Vacation Artists’ Co-Founder and Libation Vacation Expert

Epic Travel Moment:

Ruth was Knighted in 2023 by the Brewers Guild in Belgium for her passionate promotion of Belgium’s UNESCO heritage listed beer culture.

Favorite Travel Experiences:

Truffle Hunting in Europe, watching the Transhumance Festival (which is basically the running of the sheep!) in St. Remy de Provence and tasting craft beers at their source with the brewers from around the globe.

The amazing people we meet, however, are what really make all of our experiences special!

“Dr. Ruth” left a successful career as a chiropractor for what she refers to as her mid-life crises- the adrenaline rush of creating the perfect trip for her clients, friends and family.  She has worn numerous hats and won numerous awards in her almost 3 decades in the travel industry.

Beyond her myriad tourism licenses and certifications, Ruth’s field experience is second to none. She is often hosted by international tourist boards on educational familiarization trips and has served as a guide and tour director for guests of all ages for companies such as Road Scholars, Adventurous Wench, Educational Travels and EF Smithsonian. She also owns her own award-winning tour company, Bon Beer Voyage and World Wine Travels. specializing in libation, gastronomy and culture tours and she serves as a beer expert for USA Today’s Top10.  An avid world traveler who has biked and barged around Germany, sipped her way around Belgium, sketched her way around Italy and cruised her way around New Zealand, Ruth has had the opportunity to experience traveling from all points of view, allowing her to hone in on the perfect itineraries and unique experiences for each of her clients.

When traveling for her own pleasure, you will likely find her strolling around a local European market in in search of stinky cheese and other local specialities or sitting sipping a Belgian beer or glass of rosé while capturing the scene around her in her travel sketchbook.
